I'm just a little riled up by this rabid and totally unmoored attack on a position no one actually holds. Its nutty and his anger is so misplaced it makes me angry. His argument is kinda like:
Of course Howard Dean doesn't eat babies. All these people are saying he eats babies when he clearly isn't. All the people who critize him are saying he eats babies and so they all must be Republican scum.
Substitute eats babies with is unjustafiably angry and you pretty much have his argument. Its a straw man attack, its underhanded, mean and nasty and I don't like it.

  You realize he's doing a riff on Dennis Miller, right? Most of the over-the-top tone of the piece comes straight from Miller's style.

    Ok so it was all a joke? Then fine if you accept that his arugment is crap. Still, if a Clark suporter had posted something similar he would have gotten flamed to crisp.

      It was satire, a parody, if you will. It needn't have been precise. You're a pretty concrete thinker, aren't you?

        That's one of those dead giveaways that the speaker is from the political right. They really don't get satire.

        Pherhaps I missed the joke (not being familiar with Dennis Miller). Still, I'm confused, are you a denaic or not? The point I was trying to make was that the argument you used was kinda silly. If you agree with me thats great. And don't call me a conservative, you hurt my feelings... tear. Everyone has a good sense of humor untill the jokes start to hit to close to home.
